1) When is FWAAMFest?

FWAAMFest is Saturday, March 21st 2026 from noon to 10 PM.

This year we have a FREE Friday kickoff dance on March 20th from 6:30-8:30 PM.

2) Where will FWAAMFest be held?

FWAAMFest will take place at Southside Preservation Hall, 1519 Lipscomb St. Fort Worth, TX 76104.

3) Is FWAAMFest an indoor or outdoor festival?

FWAAMFest is an indoor festival. However, the outside courtyard is available for jamming, weather permitting.

4) Is FWAAMFest family-friendly?

Yes! All ages are welcome at FWAAMFest.

5) Is there parking at the festival?

Yes, Southside Preservation Hall has a parking; click this link for parking info and a street map.

6) What is the cost to attend FWAAMFest?

General Admission is $50; Children 12 & under are free (must RSVP on the ticketing site); Seniors $40; Teachers/School Staff $35; Students 13 & up $25. Click here to purchase tickets.

All are welcome at our FREE Friday Kickoff Dance on Friday, March 20th (RSVP required on the ticketing site).

7) Can I buy tickets at the door?

Yes, tickets will be available for purchase at the door.

8) What exactly is the FREE Friday Kickoff Dance?

It is a square and contra dance led by our pilot initiative, African American Dance Caller Pathways. Join us to learn square and contra dances alongside the rarely-taught Black culture within the traditions.

9) Can I leave the festival and reenter with the same ticket?

Yes; you will be issued a wristband upon entry and all you need to reenter is to show it at the door.

10) Is Southside Preservation Hall Accessible?

Yes; Accessible parking is available in the parking lot, which is on Maddox St., and there is a ramp in the lot. An accessible bathroom is available in the foyer, and all rooms are navigable for wheelchair or motorized scooter users. There is ample seating in both the ballroom and chapel.

11) Are animals allowed?

Only service animals are allowed at the festival.

12) Will food be available?

FWAAMFest will have food vendors to be announced, and drinks.

Photo & Video Policy/Media Credentials Requests:

By attending the Fort Worth African American Roots Music Festival, you consent to being filmed and or photographed, whereas your image, voice, and likeness may be used by the FWAAMFest for promotional purposes. 

To request media credentials for FWAAMFest, fill out this form.

Any photography or video taken at these events, whether in digital or analog format, may also be used by or on behalf of Decolonizing the Music Room or any of the nonprofit’s partners, sponsors, or officers for any purpose, including, but not limited to, archival, promotional, and commercial purposes.

All photographers using professional equipment (i.e. DSLRs/anything with a detachable lenses) are required to have media credentials to take pictures or video at the Festival.

• Cameras cannot be left unattended anywhere in the venue.

• Cameras cannot be set up on stage.

• Additional lighting is not permitted.

• Jibs and overhead booms are strictly prohibited.

• Flash photography is strictly prohibited, unless approved by FWAAMFest via media credentials.

• Attendees may take photos and shoot video for personal, non-commercial use, with personal cameras (excluding SLR/DSLRs) as long as they are not obstructing views or using flash.

• DRONE use is prohibited without specific written permission from the Festival.

• Unauthorized photography or audio/video recording of any performance at the Festival is strictly prohibited.

• The Festival cannot accept liability for any damages, loss or injuries sustained at the Festival, including loss or damage to property, however caused.
